JDH Solutions was founded in 1995 by Janet and Dennis Hobbs (hence JDH) and for many years has supported some of the UK’s leading retailers and manufacturers with their planogram requirements.
The company was acquired in 2019 by Netherlands based Hamilton Bright Trade Marketing and in turn incorporated into the Advantage Smollan group of companies. This has provided the foundation and scale to grow the business with a team of over 30 space and category experts within JDH Solutions and Hamilton Bright TM. We have established a product imaging and data capture studio in Somerset and a corporate office in Winnersh near Reading.
JDH Solutions is a category management partner company to Blue Yonder, the world’s largest supply chain software company. We are licenced users of the Space Planning planogram software and authorised re-sellers of Blue Yonder software solutions.

Managing Director
Craig joined JDH Solutions in February 2020 after 12 years as a Business Consultant and Solution Architect with Blue Yonder, working on Category Management projects with retailers and manufacturers across Europe. He has years of experience working in retail space management roles, primarily with Superdrug and World Duty Free.
Senior Space and Category Consultant
Caroline has expertise in category planning with Unilever, dealing with the analysis, strategy and tactics for a wide variety of product groups. She has retail experience with Sainsburys and Jacksons Family Food Stores and now leads the team of JDH Solutions consultants. Caroline has knowledge of the full suite of Blue Yonder Category Management solutions.
Senior Space and Category Consultant
Lisa leads the Product Information team overseeing product image and data capture from our studio in Somerset. She manages and maintains the space planning standards across the space planning team, and also looks after the creative elements of our work including 3D planograms and VR ready product images.
Space and Category Consultant - Team Lead
Marcella joined JDH Solutions in 2021 from Smollan in South Africa where she was a Client Success Executive working closely with Kimberly Clark category teams. Prior to Smollan, Marcella worked with Dot Activ as a Space and Range Planner. She has a strong knowledge of assortment planning and the Blue Yonder Assortment Optimization solution.
Space and Category Consultant
Dave is highly skilled in retail space planning and experienced in managing projects across a variety of FMCG environments. Dave was instrumental in the creation of the micro space planning function at Superdrug and has led space planning teams at Toys r Us and Thresher. He is skilled in macro space management and the Blue Yonder Floor Planning solution.
Space and Category Consultant
Matt joined JDH Solutions in 2022 from convenience retailer McColl’s following 10 years in space, commercial and business development roles with Pret a Manger. Previously with Woolworths and WHSmith, Matt has gained huge experience in various space and category roles and brings all this experience to JDH Solutions.

Neal joined JDH Solutions in November 2022. His background is in Category Management and he worked for Kettle Foods, Hotel Chocolat and Hain Daniels, before joining the Coop Buying Team. Neal's strength is in creating ranges for the right store at the right time.
Product Data Administrator
Holly joined us in September 2023 having completed her studies at Cardiff University to take on the newly created role of Product Data Administrator. Holly is our database administrator, maintaining and optimising product databases for all our customers.
